Killybegs GAA Pitch, Donegal

Possibly the most rugged and wild place for a sports field anywhere in Ireland. Killybegs GAA club on Fintra Bay.

I was having a bit of fun with this photo as the juxtapositioning struck me as worth noting. I suppose given the rocky landscape of Donegal that the locals are faced with, the options must be quite limited as to where you can find a large piece of flat ground big enough to build a GAA pitch.

This shot only works as an aerial image as any other angle doesn’t allow the viewer to see the landscape in which the pitch is set. I wonder do the players know just how beautiful their surroundings are?
